Mary's Village Phase II Donations

Father Michael Barry, SS.CC.

Mary’s Mercy Center began more than 30 years ago as a simple ministry of serving lunches to the homeless in the park. It was our way of living the gospels by serving the Poor and Less Fortunate. Mary’s Mercy Center now serves more than 40,000 meals a year. We also have two transitional housing programs for women with young children and homeless men. While we have helped so many over the years, the truth is, homelessness is on the rise and the need for real solutions is more important than ever.

In September of 2020, we opened the doors to Mary’s Village, a transitional home for men, built on the principles of love, compassion, and community. Today, we have nearly forty men at Mary’s Village, all participating in programs so they can rebuild their lives. In early 2021, we broke ground on Phase Il of Mary’s Village. Phase II includes 16 apartments that will serve as the next step for the men who advance from Phase I.  The apartments will be an affordable option for our men as they continue their journey of faith, sobriety, work, and transformation.

When we broke ground, Phase II was fully funded. In less than one year’s time, we have seen tremendous increases in the cost of materials and labor. While we are blessed to have a builder who works hard to keep costs down and donates back to the project, we find ourselves $900,000 short of the total revenue needed to complete Phase II. We are reaching out to ask if you would consider making a special donation towards the completion of this life-changing project. Gifts of any amount to this project are truly meaningful, and one hundred percent of your donations will be used for the project and be fully tax deductible. More importantly, your donation will help ensure that our men have a place to call home as they continue their journey of recovery. Thank you for being a blessing to Mary’s Mercy Center and those we serve. We truly believe that through our Blessed Mother, all things are possible.
